John H,

In the Denver area we still have milk delivery. Wooden box (coolers are available) and glass 1/2 gallons. It tastes SO much better than plastic!

John I grew up in CA, and thought milk delivery was a thing of the past. It was a nice surprise when my wife set it up. We have had the delivery service for about 10 years and it still feels like a novelty...very small town feel in a large city.

You sit in a rocking chair and can't get it going.

When your cell phone rings, you try to answer it with the TV remote.

Emptying the water pan under the ice box. Running out to the horse drawn tarp covered wagon to get some ice chips from the iceman.

When we lived in SW Douglas county, Royal Crest Dairy delivered milk in glass bottles, along with an assortment of goodies. They had to fill the wooden boxes with ice shavings to keep everything cold. The bears occasionally would beat me to the box, had to wake up really early to beat them to it! Sure do miss those days.

How about those little wax bottles you drink something out of and then chew the tasteless wax. Sold in penny candy stores.
