When you no longer complain about sitting on the "old geezers" bench and talking to those "old folks" at Wal-Mart while your wife buys groceries!

The Life Cycle as I see it
Really Young:
- You're very self involved - as it should be. There is a lot to learn about the world and yourself. Siblings are best friends that on occasion you fight with.
- Parents are special: They know everything and you love and need them.
- Grandparents are fun to visit, but a week in the summer is all you want. Living with them is not even a thought.
- Great-Grandparents are people your mom makes you kiss twice a year on Christmas and Easter.
Adult:
- You're still pretty much self involved making a living and getting by. You have expanded you're personal circle to include a spouse and children.
- Parents are now people to help, and you appreciate all they did for you. You just hope your children see you the same way further on down the road.
Older:
- This for me was the time I became invisible to the entire female gender but didn't notice it because children flocked to me. This is a dangerous time because the opportunity to make a fool of yourself is greatest.
Old:
- I finally realized I'm pretty much invisible to everybody except children and it doesn't bother me anymore. These are good years...children are easy to please (and disappoint) so very little care is needed to be happy.
Ancient:
- You're still invisible but now you frighten the children. There is not much going on and eating and sleeping are the high points of your day.
Lesson:
Beware the Children! They haven't learned to lie yet in interest of being polite.
Thank goodness the children are not afraid of me..... YET!!!
Dick

You know you are old when you take your dentures out and show them to a four year old and she becomes paralyzed/stunned.

Dick, great description. Truly accurate, so you know your old or ancient when you relate to the lower end of the cycle!

You know you are old when you have to keep scrolling down to click the year of your birth.

Do you know that awesome feeling when you get into bed, fall right to sleep, stay asleep all night and wake up feeling refreshed and ready to take on the day?
Yeah, me neither!

I can still direct you to some of those barber/beauty shop/parlors.

You're spot on. I'll amend that last phase as follows.
Ancient:
- You're still invisible but now you frighten the children. And the only kisses you get are twice a year on Christmas and Easter.. There is not much going on and eating and sleeping are the high points of your day.
