That's high! When I was a teenager burgers were 15 cents, milkshakes 20 cents, and cokes 5 cents! I don't remember about fries.

You know you are getting old when you can remember when gas pumps at your corner gas station had glass globes on top with markers indicating how much gas was going into your car. A hand lever on the side pumpted the gas up, and gravity put it into your tank. (And yes, I've pumped them up)
A year or so later we had gas pumps with only even cents, and a small window on top to pruve you were actually getting fuen into your car. None of this 9/10ths stuff.

Remember these phrases?

About a month ago, I illuminated some old expressions that have become obsolete because of the inexorable march of technology.

These phrases included
"Don’t touch that dial,"
"Carbon copy,"
"You sound like a broken record"
and "Hung out to dry."

Funny that we still use carbon copy (CC) with emails. I bet a lot (yes a lot is two words) of young people don't know what it really means. When was the last time you saw a sheet of carbon paper?
