The cheapest I ever saw gas was 19 a gallon during a gas in Abilene, TX in '69-'71 (I don't remember the exact year). We filled the tank with loose change we found under the machines in the next door laundromat.

You know your OLD when you can remember a $5.00 date. A buck in the tank, a buck for the Drive In, and $3 for pizza and a cokes.

And 15 cent beer in the NCO club on Mon Nights.:

When what used to watch you tie your tie now watches your tie your shoes if you can get to your feet.

grashly, what did you do? Buy hi octane? I used to buy regular for 14.9/gallon and got S&H Green stamps and a glass! Price lasted for over a year during our local gas war!

And never got out of your car they washed your windshield and head lights and would check your tires if you asked.

Not if you worked in a gas station as a kid and it's freezing someone pulls in and wants the antifreeze and tires checked.
