YKYO if you can remember when just about all car front seats were bench-type. Sure was nice when your girl could snuggle up close while you were driving!

You saw a lot of those "two-headed" drivers back then!

Believe it or not, but I had a 66 Mustang with a bench seat.

YKYOI: You "dialed" the "operator" to place a "long distance call" and she (always a "she") said she would "patch you in"!

YKYOI: You remember gas price wars. In about 1960 I saw it at 11.9 cents per gallon. And you remember saying "cents" not "dollars" when referring to the price of gas.

YKYO when you can remember growing up out in the country and seeing the power company putting up the poles and lines to bring electricity to the community for the first time!

Seeing those guys climb the poles with their spikes fascinated me. My dad worked in a machine shop and did welding, and I had him make me a pair of the climbers. I strapped them on my legs with old leather belts and wore out all the trees around our house!

YKYO if you can remember parking way out on some country road with your sweetie to listen to music and "watch the stars"! Nobody thought anything about it back then, but I can't imagine doing that today, you'd probably get mugged or killed!

I feel old when I talk to "young" people about the good old days when MTV played videos 24/7! Life before cable, internet, cell phones, computers (ah yes typing - on a typewriter - term papers in college!) walking to the library (what's that!) to research a paper, looking for a pay phone to call home, shared phone lines in the college dorm....

You know you are old when your joints are more accurate than the meteorologists!
