You could find blasting caps alongside a road construction project just sitting in a box. No need to lock up something as powerful and destructive as that!

I have saved this one for now. The only light in the room was the gas lamp. No wall switches. that is what was in the house my Dad bought. No plumbing, electric or central heat. We turned the valve on the lamp and lite the gas. then put the globe on it. Now I am not that old but the house was 75 years old 65 years ago. I am 73 now that is old.

You know you're old when your first home you purchased only had one wall switch. Also still had the gas light fixtures

You know you are old when your new car cost twice as much as the first new house you bought. That was me in 2001!

Here's one. My Buddy and I in High School used to go goose hunting in the morning and write notes, supposedly from our parents, about how we had to do chores before coming to school.

One fine rainy morning we were crawling up on a flock of geese feeding in a picked corn field. There was a rise that we were headed for where we would have a good field of fire when the geese took flight.

I noticed off to our right another hunter crawling towards the same rise. No problem, plenty of geese. Then I recognized that this individual was non other than our High School Principle!!! We looked at him and he looked at us and asked what we were doing there. We replied that we were doing chores for our parents. Than I asked him what he was doing there. Turns out he had called in sick.

Win, win. We went hunting together.

Probably couldn't get away with that today.

Nope! He would be fired and prosecuted for contributing to the delinquency of minors!!
