I'm not that old but I can remember most of the things posted. I can remember riding my bike to the store to get my parents cigarettes and nobody thought anything about it. We didn't have a gas powered mower until I was 15. I remember getting s&h green stamps. We had a whole set of dishes from the gas station. I threw news papers from my bike when I was 10-12. I mowed lawns for 2 dollars front and back. Mc Donalds was a new burger joint. Mtv actually showed music videos. R rated movies were taboo. Lucy and Desi slept in twin beds. Three stooges were funny and not considered violent. Wow I'm just having so many great memories. Thanks for this thread!

Remembering laying on the living room floor "watching" the radio while the Lone Ranger, Green Hornet, The Shadow etc.. Wonder why we had to look at the radio??
Remember Gizzell McKenzie, Russell Arms, Dorthy Collins, and Snooky Lanson on the "Hit Parade".

Putting Harness on team of Mules at first light of day and plow field until dusk. Yes those were the Good Ole Days? Don't think so. Been there and done that. Forgot had to take harness off and water & feed the mules at end of day. Yes I am Old.

You know you're old when the ship you served on becomes a museum.

Remember when the McDonald's sign clicked over the million burgers sold! Our McDonald's gave out free burgers!

Factory installed seat belts became a requirement the year you got your drivers licence . Not that long ago compared to some of the other items in the other posts.
Same year most automobile manufacturers switched from generators to alternators ; if memory serves.
But it doesn't, that often any more.

Decided to call my toilet 'The Jim' instead of the John.
Makes people think I really did something healthy when I say I'm going to the Jim.
