We had our WIT Va state meeting at American Heritage this weekend and what a wonderful time we all had. The weather was just perfect and the rain held off until Sunday when we were getting ready to leave. The park has new owners and they are trying very hard to satisfy every need and request from us RVers. He spoke to our group and told us of all the improvements that have been made already, and those he plans on making very soon...like cement pads and patios for all sites. He asked us to please write down on a 3x5 card anything we would like to see done at the park in the future. We have always liked this place, but even more so now. Our chapter is having our Christmas campout party there next month, and he gave us the opportunity to reserve them for next year...which we were happy to do. The park was full up and we still had plenty of room, even for big rigs, and the water pressure was just fine. Something I always notice if the park is full. They also have some nice buildings for inside activities.

Glenda:

That's good to know. American Heritage has always been our favorite RV park whenever we were in Williamsburg. I hope the new owners keep the nice, fenced dog run. They have so much great open land there.

By chance did you see a work camper there...a young woman named Jennifer who has a rescued small mixed German Shepherd dog named Willow? Willow and our mutt, Bear, are real buddies whenever we stay there.

Smlranger,
I don't know if she was there or not because we were so busy with the state meeting stuff I didn't even get to the store. We will be up there next weekend and I will look her up if she is still there. We were parked one row over from the large open field where I took my golden (100#) and his friend Dixie (12#) to run and play. That was a sight to see Dixie chasing my Fletcher ! I will tell Willow hello if she is still there.

I believe Jennifer works at an animal shelter during the day and works half time for the CG, at least she did when we were last there. She had a TT over in the wooded area. If you see them, tell Willow Bear will see her in the Spring.

Thanks.

Sounds like a GREAT site for an iRV2 regional get together!!

Definitely something to look into, I'm even wondering if they could handle a National...
Might be too many rigs in a July affair for them to handle though....

ON EDIT

Looks like we'd have to plan a National a good ways out and we'd own the place!

American Heritage RV Park is nestled among 70 acres of lush green meadows and woodland, perfect for relaxing after a busy day of sightseeing or a hard day's drive. All of our 95 sites are full hook-ups. 70 are pull-thrus and spacious enough for your multiple slide-outs. We are close to everything and away from the noise.

I agree AH would be a great place for a rally. Twice when we were there, they were hosting groups (SMART CATS, WIT) and everyone seemed to enjoy the place. They have so much open land...wonder if the new owner's plans include adding sites?

Here we site in site #47 for the rest of the Thanskgiving weekend. Two suggestions; pave the entry road, move the WiFi hotspot to the bathhouse (if it is not already there). It is more central in the campground and would provide better signal strength.
