As you can tell from my signature we are accustomed to all the amenities. HOWEVER this last weekend we went back to the basics...tent, coleman stove, small grill, firewood and ice chests. Had reservations in Yosemite Valley for 1 night (Sunday) got up early Monday morning and went to the reservation kiosk (6:25) and stood in line for cancellations and got a 2nd night (different site) within 7 camp sights of 1st night. I carried the tent to the new sight and moved the remainder of gear in my utility trailer.
WE HAD A WONDERFUL 2 1/2 days. Bike riding, hiking, visiting neighbors, camp fire 2 nights with smores. An air mattress is a necessity at our age and the sleeping bags kept us warm. We will do this again as we are too big with the M/H to have any chance of staying in the Valley.
Yosemite must be THAT special place here on Earth...

Wow - that's dedication to Yosemite. I don't think I could get DW to join me in a tent.

Yosemite is that special place. Son #2 is a chef at the Ahwahnee and has been out there since May.
Hope you enjoyed the waterfalls as they have been spectacular (and dangerous) this year.
