Change of Plans but still had a great time

We had planned on spending our anniversary weekend in Junction but the wildfires in that area resulted in the State Park still being closed when we were ready to head out on Friday. We were determined to go somewhere and I've always wanted to see Palo Duro Canyon so we made a last minute call and headed north toward Amarillo instead of to our beloved Junction. It was nearly a five hour drive but beautiful. We are planning to go back this summer and see the Texas play there.
