We're travelling to Luray Caverns and New Market National Park. We are bringing our 2 grandchildren and our nephew.

Any travel tips out there?

Hi DriVer,

When are you going? We will be ther on July 20th. We will be stopping at Culpepper VA in the morning,9am, to visit The Belmont Farm Distillery (moonshine) then on to Luray and the Sky Line drive.
I was at Luray about 25 yrs. ago on the way home from Senaca Rocks WV. Very nice area from what I remember.

Hi: I spent a week in the Hay Market/ Manassas area 3 yrs.ago I used Greenville Farm CG. off US 15 no. just outside Hay Market,Va. It's convient to Air/Space Museum- D.C.-Manassas Nat'l Park-Gettysburg is a great day trip from there also. I traveled down US 17 so. to Fredricksburg-hit I 95 so. to Myrtle Beach for another week. There's lots of HISTORY in central Va. On US 460- The D-DAY MEMORIAL is at Bedford,Va. Appomattox Courthouse, 4 lane hwy. runs west from I-95 to I 81 at Ronoake,Va. Hope this helps.

We are at the Mountain Valley KOA in Broadway, VA.

Some 10 or more years ago we went to Luray Caverns with our sons. Today we visited the caverns again with our grandchildren. The place hasn't changed much ...... STILL breath taking.

Tomorrow I get to take my "GCs" & Nephew to New Market for their indoctrination about the Civil War.

We took a ride up to Skyline Drive but just to get a photo OP would have cost us $15.00 for a day. Regretfully we just turned around and passed on the opportunity.

We are departing for points north on Thursday. Friday we get to give the kids back!
