I winter mostly on Lake Hartwell,,,, of course it is one BIG lake, Miles of shoreline..
Parks on the lake I have camped at include Lake Hartwell State Park, Thousand Trails Carolina Landing (just a few yards of lakeshore) Twin Lakes Core of Engineers and on lake Keowee (means place of Mulberries) South Cove park... I plan on more places next year.
I have a friend on the Georgia side now as a camp host on a day use camp.

Beware of the COE campground called watsattler near the town of Hartwell. if you are handecapped; my wife requires an electric convenice to get around; you are not permitted to use an electric wheelchair in this park. I was told this in no unscertan terms. BTDT

Yes, this appears to be true of all COE parks, they would not let my wife use her scooter either. (But then she is technically not handicapped, in fact I'm worse then she mobility wise, but they had no tribble with my bicycle..)
I do like that part of the country.

Makes no difference to them.
I filed a complaint to four different agencies that deal with the disabilities act and heard nothing.

The problem with COE parks is that they are Federal, so to get them to change the rule to allow handicapped mobility devices you'd have to sue under ADA, and suing the Federal Government is not an easy task. There is a "Government Immunity" thing you have to get past.
Now one thing you can do is "Bad Publicity" and, in fact. you are doing it.
One (Or two) other things you can do which come under the same concept is to write your congressman or Senator, In fact, this would be my best suggesiton..
If enough of us write senator Blowhard or whatever the senator's name is.... Might work.

I was in Alabama once years ago; wife had a bad accident in a COE park; contacted at least a dozen attorneys, not a single one would touch the case, all they said was that its impossible to sue the COE that they are imune from lawsuits.
