This past weekend was our first trip out this year and with our "new to us" motorhome. Everything went well. We had a great time hiking, photography, cooking and spending time with the dogs.
This is a great park if you like spending time outdoors. There are miles of hiking and mountain biking trails, plenty of geocaching.
Pictures are in our signature links.

Thanks for the pics. I will keep it in mind for future Boy Scout trips. The fire pit set up looks pretty unusual.

Hey Tom, great place to hike, geocache and bike. Yea the fire ring set up is a little strange. They do not allow individual fires at the RV sites. they have a council ring. The tent section is a little different, you can have individual fires and if you stay in adirondack shelter they have the reflector fire rings.
Everything worked great on the Adventurer and that was the main purpose of the trip. off to Richmond in 17 days.

I stayed there a year ago and found it to be one of those finds that I hope don't get discovered by to many people. It is the closest county park to the metropolitan area of NY and we used it to visit our daughter in Caldwell and make day trips to NYC. $20 a night for an RV site with water and electric was also great. It is the only campground I ever stayed at where I had an actual bear encounter. They turn off the water in October but we will be back this August. You need a car so we rented one to get around. The sites have paved pads and are fully shaded. The heated showers are well maintained and there is a dump station but not much else in the way of amenities.

Thanks for the post. Looks like a neat place. My kids love hiking & playing in the woods. Appears to be only a 3 hour drive from us, so well within a weekend trip!
Nascar in Richmond? Where are you staying?

It is a great place for a weekend or even three nights. Lots of hiking and mountain bicycling trails.
And if you do need a movie,shopping.. the AMC theater in Rockaway mall area is not far.
We stay at the track in Richmond, Specialty Lot F Outside turn #2.
We were thinking about visiting the dirt track that is in your area in July. Have you been there?
