Medina Lake

We did a long weekend to Medina Lake last week. Lotsa HEAT!! but a good time. Went into Bandera (1st Time we've been there in 20 years) and were pleased to see Arky Blue's Silver Dollar was still there.... a great old Texas beer joint.

1000 Trails was OK, but seems to be open to anyone with a buck not just membership. Pretty quite away from the boat launch / day camper area. Many deer - a couple of nice bucks still in velvet. Friendly, courteous staff.

One of out favorite places. We have been there a few times and we will be back later this year.

There is something about Texas that we really like. Maybe it is the "what you see is what you get" attitude? Could I have been a Texan in my previous life

Next time we go to Bandera I may just swat my viking helmet for a Stetson. When we go there it seems like I am the only one without a nice big hat.

1000 Trails have always been very kind to us and we certainly enjoy the presents of all deer. They are used to being feed and they will come right up to you if you a just a bit patient.
