It's going to be a short get-away, but a get-away all the same.
We have reservations for Saturday at Northbeach. We hoped to be there Friday and Saturday, but a last minute doctor's appointment for one of the kids has forced us to wait until Saturday to leave home.
After having our MH in a repair shop for the last 6 months for electrical repairs (the 6 month time span was our decision, not the repair shop's) we finally have it back and look forward to our first trip in a long time.
Oooops, that's suppose to read "St. Augustine".

Enjoy and good luck on your trip -- we like the St. Augustine area. The CW and outlet malls are awesome.

We arrived back home from our trip to North Beach around 4 P.M. this afternoon.
We all had a enjoyable trip except for when we stopped at the WalMart in Palatka to pick up a few things. When we were ready to leave the WalMart the MH would not start. There was a clicking noise at the starter, but no starting. Luckily I always carry a spare starter because I know about the starter problems attached to the P-30 chassis. After changing the starter in the parking lot we were on our way. I guess my next thread on this site should ask for suggestions on dealing with the heat around the starter on big block Chevrolet engines.
We arrived a hour or so later than planned, but everything went well once we got there and set-up. We were assigned lot #104 which is a pull-through site on a corner. Of the 3 trips we have made to North Beach, this was our least favorite sight we have been to, because it wasn't shaded as well as other sites we have had. We previously had sites 92 and 99. Those were back-in sites which are no problem for us and they seem to be more shady being boardered by the trees and brush on all 3 sides.
We still had alot of fun and enjoyed the beach both yesterday afternoon and this morning. My wife and I also enjoyed a nice walk this morning along the river on the back side of the park.
We got everything packed up and left about 12:30 P.M. then stopped at one of our favorite places for lunch in St. Augustine, The Cheese Wheel sandwich shop. After lunch we made it back home to Williston without any further difficulties. It was a enjoyable trip, but just too short.

North Beach Camp Ground is one of our family's favorite campground, and the best in the St. Augustine area. The Campground is beautiful, has a great restaurant on the grounds. Bath houses are clean, and the staff is nice.

How ironic someone added to this thread this weekend.
We just arrived back home from another trip to North Beach. This time we were able to go over Friday afternoon and made a 2 night trip out of it.
Things were a little more hectic this time because we carried our kids, plus our oldest grown daughter, her husband and their kids along. We reserved 2 spots (53 and 54) a few months ago, so Karen and I stayed in the MH enjoying the new A/C unit we recently puchased and installed while the kids and grandkids stayed on the other site in tents. We had one bit of adventure yesterday afternoon following a 45 minute afternoon rain shower. We found out that a older 6 man tent that a friend gave us a few months ago wasn't very rain proof. The tent had about 1/2" of water standing in it after the rain stopped. We got out all of the bedding and dried everything at the laundry room just across the drive from our sites, then went to the local WalMart and purchased another tent for the 4 boys since the weather forecast indicated that it might rain again that night. Ended up not raining, but Karen felt it was the best thing to do. We all enjoyed the beach and the kids did some fishing from the dock on the back side of the park and had a blast. They even caught a few fish along with a few crabs.
We can't wait to go back again.
