Our club was planning a campout in April to also include a trip to Tangier Island. The campground we WERE going to stay at is the Reedville KOA. It is a small park with only about 50 sites. One of our members had been speaking to the owners of the KOA and making tentitive arrangements. Our friend had assured the KOA owners that we would probably be able to insure her of selling out most of the sites. And since the season in that area does not begin until mid May, this was to the KOA owners benefit. However, when one of our members called to make a reservation for this event, she was told she could not be bothered with these people with their "big super rigs" and "slides". She said she was getting ready to go to FL and she was too busy to help her. To put in bluntly, the owner was very rude and almost angry. She said it was people "like us" that made her get rid of her tent sites. Needless to say, our club will not be using this KOA in April or ever. Another person told us that when they were in the area they asked the owner if they could come in and look around and were told they couldn't because she was afraid they may try to "steal" something ! Are you kidding me? I think KOA needs to make a visit to this campground.

Glenda, it might be worth your while given your postion as a local WIT chapter to pass along your experience to the KOA folks...Not sure how that's done but their web page might offer help...

Also would encourage you to add a review to the iRV2 CG review site as well as rvparkreviews.com.

THANKS for the heads up!

In 2002 we had a similar bad experience with the same campground. I belong to a local Good Sam's chapter and we were camping as a group (about 8 - 10 rigs). The owner was moody and recanted on several statements she had made to our wagonmaster. I posted our experience here at the time. It looks like nothing has changed. KOA headquarters just referred our protest back to the owner.

Also the kiddy pool was filthy and the adult pool was in disrepair.

I have already reported this campground to KOA. But I don't think they really care. We stayed here for 2 nights in August (BIG mistake).
We will not go back. Look at my review on rvparkreviews.com.

You might want to consider sending in this KOA Feedback Form to the Billings headquarters.

Teeman, thanks for the suggestion. We have since made plans to stay at Thousand Trails as guests of one of our members, but for a future campout, this looks like a place to go.

Stay at the Thousand Trails if you can. It is a nice location, right on the river.

Your trip to Tangiers Island will be a lot of fun.
