Well I know I'm new here so I thought I better get my post count up there on my first night! LOL
We left June 9th for our HONEYMOON weekend (plus a few days) to South Padre Island. We are staying at the KOA camp next to Pier19 and it is wonderful!
I know we're a "young couple" of 26 & 24 but we love the quietness and laidback style of you grown-ups. Spring Break style just aint for us!
The KOA was $197 for the weekend with 30/50 hookups, full sewer, AMAZINGLY HIGH water pressure for an excellent shower!, cable and wifi hookups. Couldn't get the wifi to work on the laptop but I always carry my sprint air card for this exact reason!
They just got done with two heavy storms, Alex and a heavy thunderstorm so it was very moist here which created a bit of a high number count on the mosquitos. However, they (KOA) and the island did the best they could to spray for the bugs at night wich did make a good impact for the first 2 days. I think its time for them to spray again! It was a great time, great local food, fun, and things to do, Schlitterbahn is about 2 blocks away, the ocean is 15 feet away, Pier19 is about 200yds away with AWESOME food (DO NOT DRINK THE WATER, TEA, OR SODA!!!) get bottled water, beer, or don't drink! I swear they have a pump under the pier that pumps the ocean water into your drink, it tastes HORRID! but the food is incredible!! I can go on for another hour about everything we did and what was so great, but I'm going to leave it up to everyone else to just pack up and get out here for a weekend! it is definately worth the long drive across Texas! Took us about 13hrs from Oklahoma City.
Everyone Enjoy, our Honeymoon was fantastic and the weather cooperated perfectly too! Below is the website where we were able to see the photos and even book our reservation all online and simple!
