Our First Night Out by Bill, just Bill, on Flickr

Here we aren in our first night ever in our new (to us) RV, a 2007 Newmar Essex. We're on our way to Alpine, Tx from Joshua, Tx. We'll be using the Lost Alaskan RV Park as home base.

Tonight we are in Copperas Creek Corps of Engineers Park on Rt 67. Very nice park with full hookups.

Now, how'd you get the blue in the sky to match your coach & Hummer? Sweet!

Nice lookin' rig and toad.

An excellent example that it only takes a little bit more to go first class.

I'd say that is a 'lotta bit more' than our coach.

Have fun in Big Bend...we make at least 1-2 trips there a year.

Thanks everybody for the nice welcome. We're having a little unscheduled stop in beautiful Fort Stockton. About 75 miles out from there my drivers side window threatened to fall out of it's frame (!!!). A little duct tape applied to the problem allowed us to get this far. Hope to connect with a glass company tomorrow. Will post a pic of the adventure in a bit.

@Nlovinit, I checked out your pics and you have some very nice panoramas. Tell me your technique and I'll tell you mine! I used my iPhone with a program called ProHDR. The sun was setting and too bright for a regular shot. Other than that, I just upped the saturation a bit.

Lajitas campsite by Bill, just Bill, on Flickr

We spent the first night at The Lost Alaskan in Alpine. Then the tribe decided they wanted to be closer to the park. So we ended up at Maverick RV Ranch in Lajitas.

1) The family wanted to take in sites like the river road and Terlingua and this was more central to the whole thing.

2) I had six in my RV, including a two year old. Full hookups a must.

3) All the electric sites were full at Rio Grande Village as well as Chisos Basin. Of course I couldn't get in there anyway.

All in all had a great trip. Now I have to go fight with someone about the window...
