So sorry... for both of you. Hope she has a speedy recovery and that you get to use your new rig soon.

This is a true story:
I was out at the west coast several years ago (we live in Florida) and was up at Port Angeles, Washington State, when my wifes back went out, took her to the hospital, they gave her several shots of morfine and loaded her in the back of my motorhome, she rode in the bed the whole way across the US looking out the window. (what a great trip that was).
Was in Maine one summer: oh thats another story.
And in Pa once.
And in Alabama once
And in
And

So sorry to hear about your wife's hip and your postponed (not cancelled) plans. Like the guy who told his friend he broke his ribs in six places. His friend told him don't go in those places again.

I made a big trip today; sure felt good to get behind the wheel of the motorhome.
Neighbor was painting his wall , so i moved the motorhome from beside the house the driveway; about 300 feet.

Lets see; the engine was cold so the chock was on, it took me about ten minutes max; the guess off the top of my head; I bet I used a gallon of gas making that move. that comes to approx 10 gallon per mile

Our best wishes for your wife's successful recovery. After she recovers don't tell her when your leaving for a trip. Just have her go up in the MH to "check it out", crank it up and go.

I hope that you aren't blaming her for breaking her hip. She has it worse that you do, and probably feels terrible, both for her hurting body and for your disappointment.
That said, I can sure understand your feelings. I have been in a similar situation. Remember, tough times don't last, but tough people do.
