Sometimes mother nature changes your plans. It was a beautiful night of heavy thunder snow. Decided not much could be done than to make a pot of coffee and catch up on relaxing. Woke to 14 inches of snow on the ground. Glad I had stopped and tanked up on fuel before parking. Of course the only downside was clearing the snow off the satellite dome. Now I know why I keep a ladder onboard, not just for cleaning windows. Should prove to be interesting on how long the consumables, propane and fuel for generator will last.

About 6 years ago my son and I had the same thing happen on Presidents day weekend at Lodgepole in the Seirras.

It was actually very enjoyable to snow camp for these past days. Glad I installed the "extend-a-stay" last year. Kept toasty warm with external propane bottles. AGM batteries lived up to their expectations and genset took care of the recharging and high current electrical needs.

Hi MJP,

I don't know if you know that your snow picture- of your rig- is being used on another site: RV Boondocking News: Winter boondocking at Mount Rainier National Park

I'd say that'd make one nice season-appropriate avatar!

I guess I should have taken a picture of us snowed in at a Wal*Mart a few years ago!
IT started snowing while we were packing up from a cat show, drove up the freeway and picked up propane just in case. Came back and stopped at a WM to call the DOT. While on the phone with them they announced over the loudspeakers that the State Patrol had closed I-5. So we stayed the night right where we were. Had diesel, propane, food store inside WM and a Starbucks right next door. Had a great time.
