All summer we followed, and were greatly entertained by, the "Alpine Sightings" thread. Now we're finally on the road for the winter and are curious about other's winter travel habits.

We're just east of Kingman, AZ for a one night stay as we travel east to New Orleans for Thanksgiving with our son, then will head west and south, into Mexico through Laredo, TX.

Any one else have favorite places to winter? Please be specific about where and why you like it. About 5 years ago we spent 8 weeks in AZ but never found a place we REALLY loved so we're looking for suggestions, east or west of the Mississippi.

We stay in Nellis AFB in Las Vegas for the most part. Then possibly south to Camp Verde, AZ.
