1,000 Islands CG's

We're heading to the 1,000 Islands in the near future driving a Class A. We are looking for a nice Camp Ground to stay at for a weekend or a week or so!! No party places, but a nice pool would be wonderful.

Any sugestions?

Technically its not in the 1,000 Islands, but I've heard good things about Association Island KOA in Henderson Harbor. The entire island is the campground with a few year round trailers, but you are right on the water.

You might also try Welsey (sp?) Island State Park just off I-81 between Alexandria Bay and Clayton.

We stayed at wellesley Island before and it was a nice state run park. They also have boat rentals. People were very friendly. We also stayed at assocation Island and was not impressed with it and would not go back. To us the pictures that they show on line are about 15 years old and for what they charge its not worth it.

X2 on association Island,It is a little more expensive than average, But is certainly in a unique location. Good sized lots . Wellesly Is State park is good in the RV loop . Sometimes hard to get reservations during summer

Lots of nice CG 's on the Canadian side too. KOA Ivy Lea has a nice pool and an adult pool-size hot tub.

Last summer we stayed at koa 1000 islands (association island rv resort and marina) and our site was right on the water. It is at the end of the road surrounded by water so a beautiful setting. We camped in a class a. We were only about 30 minutes from boldt castle.

BILLY CHRONICLES has pictures of our trip and places we visited while there. (june 12 thousand islands post)
