Where to stay at 1000 islands ?
looking for full hookups, 50 amp, bringing a 40 footer.
and ..... a pool.
don't think that I want to be camping in August without a swimming pool.

Was just at Association Island last weekend. Not bad location. Bit windy on the water but very scenic and unique. Some sand flies, bit annoying and WiFi sucked oh and bring firewood, there's is soaked so bad we only had a fire once during the 3 days there . Had to use a bottle of lighter fluid to get er going.
Still scenery made up for it. Chose a Marina Pull thru lot and glad I did, too much wind on the lake side. Bay side is best but usually first ones gone.
Have fun!

We did a week at Ivy Lea KOA last summer. I know how some folks feel about the KOA experience in general but for our family, we've always had great experiences. Ivy Lea KOA is right on the Parkway, great pool and lots of activities for the kids. We rented a boat across the parkway for a day on the water, which was a real treat.

We stayed at Association island a couple of years ago.. it's a bit of a drive to the 1000 islands proper, but a nice place . Afterwards we went to Merry Knoll CG in Clayton. It has FHU and a pool . Owners are great. Large sites.. some wooded, some open with a view of the river. The antique boat show is Aug 3-5 which really fills up the CGs in the area so if you plan to be there then, reserve now.
