Thank you thank you all! Great ideas, please keep em coming! If we're there for a couple of months, probably 8-10 areas we can explore :-)

We don't mind driving a long day or two to get to a good destination.

We'd rather be cold than hot: you can always add another layer, but there are limits to how many clothes you can take off :-)

Thanks again.

Our first winters of full-timing that's exactly what we did...chose a state; stayed in state parks and moved around the state exploring the different areas. That way you know where you want to zero in if staying long-term. Every area is completely different.

We did this for Florida, Texas, Arizona and California. We settled in on Arizona as the tops for us.

At this time of year things start to cool off.

- Martin Dies State Park
- Sam Houston State Park
- Core of Engineer parks in TX are usually great

It really depends on what you want to do giving us a few more details?

- wine?
- get away with noone around
- fishing?
- boating?
- swimming?

DH likes wine and I'm a permanent Designated Driver
No one around is good once in a while but not needed all the time
No fishing zzzz
No swimming, sometimes rent little boats on purty lakes

We love hiking/ walking, especially in scenic areas - lakes, hills, streams. Occasionally getting to cities so DH can try to culture me :-). Or for a good lunch or dinner, or incredible supermarkets like Central Market (I stumbled across it in Houston and OMG!!!!)

Ohan we want to meet and visit with y'all!!
