48 hours to go...

As winter does not seem to be letting up in NJ, DW and I are headed to Sugarloaf Key on Friday.

We will be alone for a week and then 2 of the boys and one girlfriend will fly down Easter weekend and drive back with us.

Friday can't get here fast enough!

Would you kindly take some of this cold weather and drop it off in a ditch somewhere along in your travels? Be safe and enjoy.

Debbie,

Sugarloaf is in the FL Keys about 20 miles outside of Key West.

As always, work has temporarily derailed some plans for this morning but we hope to leave around lunchtime today!

Made it down here but you can see from my other post is was not necessarily relaxing (tow bar snapped while doing 65 mph on I-95).

Did stop in Emporia, VA, Brunswick, GA and Port St. Lucie, FL on way down.

Unfortunately, it is only 14 degrees warmer in the keys when compared to NJ! 66 and windy today.

Sorry to hear about your tow bar and the lack of warm weather. I also have same issue with the weather. Left Virginia thinking that 500 south to Hilton head would certainly put me into he really warm temps. A little better but not what I was hoping for! Still beats being home working but would be nice to see some low 70's. Please tell us more about he tow bar mishap. I have a friend who had same thing happen. Blue ox tow bar snapped while on 17 heading to Hatteras. Luckily the car decided to veer off to the right instead of the left. No injuries but car needed major repairs once tow bar dug into ground and caused damage underneath. After many pictures to prove he had done nothin wrong, blue ox replaced his bar and accessories. I think his insurance had to pay for auto repairs. I don't tow but rather either rent a car, stay at the campground or ride my bike. Stories like this make me want to keep it that way! Looking forward to your reply! Enjoy rest of your trip.
