I'm late to your thread but wanted to pass along how interesting of a read you did. I would like to do much the same trip and enjoy using my Jeep instead of a motorcycle. You gave me many ideas and got me dreaming of Colorado.

Colorado was full of jeeps belonging to the members of the Family Motor Coach Association. I got some serious jeep fever watching these guys.

I really enjoyed your photos and narrative about your trip. We are semi retired as of May 2014 and we'll be taking a 6-8 week trip to Florida later this winter. We have been talking about this trip for more than a year. It's our first big adventure. Following your trip made me even more excited about our trip. Thanks for sharing.

Been to Taylor Park the past two summers and have heard that Cottonwood Pass was bad. We're in a 40'ft Mh DP with a 24' enclosed trailer and have decided to go the Gunnison route. Haven't been on CW Pass as of yet because of the no atv's allowed to even check it out. But this was a good read. Wondering if you could shed some light on boondocking near Leadville as we are planning a 40 day trip in 2015. As we are in a MH we need to be able to ride atv's right out of our camp. Another area you should check out is the Silverton/Ouray/Lake City area known as the Alpine Loop. Thanks for the GREAT read and thanks for any help you can give us on Leadville.

Andy - Thanks so much for the wonderful post including your great pictures and all your smiles. No wonder! I enjoyed every day's story. A few (OK, many) years ago it was Colorado every other year for us and our boys. We are planning a trip back this fall and then on to Yellowstone. So glad I found your posts.
