we visited a campground this past weekend on the water in a quite cove near the 10 mile marker. this place was called Deer Park but is better associated with its waterside bar accessible by boat called Franky and Louie's. The rules were so lax at this place it was great. They have a nice swimming beach that is roped off and viewable from the bar area. They have a sand volleyball court, boat docks, boat rentals (pontoons) and even new boat sales. We could bring our own booze to the bar and listen to the band, dance or swim. There was no one coming around at a set curfew telling us our music was too loud or we were too loud (which i cant stand a 10 or 11PM curfew on a weekend). we took our Rhino where it was welcomed along with golf carts or four wheelers to get around on.
For a young couple with a boat or meeting boaters wanting to enjoy the lake and camp, this is the place. Its close to all the nice waterfront bars (Horny Toads, ******* and the Topsider)and restaurants and the folks are awesome. Bands on friday and saturday nights too.
