A Smokey Mountains Week in NOV

My wife and I were supposed to spend the last 3 weeks of October in the Smokey Mountains. Events conspired against us, and the planned 3 weeks in October trip turned into one week in November. We still had a great time!

We stayed at the Tuckaseegee RV Resort. Camping in the Smoky Mountains | Tuckaseegee River Campground

It was out first time there. The campground is in a super location (on US 74, 2 miles east of the US 441 exit to Cherokee. We loved staying there and will go back.

The pluses: location, friendly staff, good rates, beautiful views, super clean restrooms, good campground store, Tuckaseegee River Access, walking trail, large lots.

The minuses: internet coverage poor, Verizon only cellphone coverage, all lots are back-in.

The pictures:

October is supposed to be leaf season in the Smokys. We missed it. November wasn't too bad - there was still some color.

The leaves were down at higher elevations. It is a different kind of beauty.

Eat at Kosta's in Slyva, NC - it's ummmmm good.

Our dogs love camping.

Buttercup out for her daily walk along the river.

We looked for some Moles.

Jack, AKA Whack-Whack, likes to explore too.

My daughter did a little fishing.

Thanks for the kudos. We are in Gatlinbug this week. Not camping but still having fun. It is the first time I have been to Gatlinburg when it wasn't crowded. We have had some cold weather. There was some snow higher in the mountains. I took a few pics....
