Adirondacks

My four year old daughter and I are headed to Limekiln Lake State Park in the Adirondacks tomorrow morning. We take a yearly annual trip without my wife, a father-daughter weekend. I am really looking forward to a great time.

Watch out for the Black Flies! They are around until the first hot days of summer.

We were up around Star Lake / Wanakena last year at this time. No black flies!!! I LOVED that it was cool enough to have a campfire at night (Since Memphis is 80 degrees or more overnight at this point in the year)

We had a wonderful time for the most part. My TT developed a leak under the bathroom sink and I couldn't seem to find it. It leaked all weekend. Then in the way home a bad valve stem caused my tire to go soft. Luckily I was able to get it home! Father in law is going to look for the leak this week. We think it may be a line from the fresh water tank as this was the first time we used it and when we were connected to a water source it never leaked. Oh the joys! Pics to come soon.

Question Limekiln Lake

Any black bears in the campground this year? We used to camp at Racquette Lake years ago, and we used to visit your campground to see the bears!

Not a single bear :( We went looking the first two nights and then asked one of the park rangers and she said not a single siting this year. She said the woods have provided more than enough food for them so none of them have ventured into the campground!
