Advice needed
We live in Minnesota,
Every year We take a 2 week trip to find warm weather starting April 1 st.
We normally don't have a destination , But this year
With all the flooding .
It may be harder to find camping.
We have two weeks and don't mind driving so nothing is off the table
Any advice on camping spots would be appreciated .

Hi n2587n,
Consider getting over to I75 as quickly as you can. Then you can just head south. How far south depends on how warm you want to be and how far you want to drive.
1. Central and Northern Kentucky has the Creation Museum and The Ark along with other attractions.
2. Eastern Tennessee has the Smoky Mountains NP along with Sevierville, Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg.
3. Florida has just about anything you could want.
South Florida (like around West Palm Beach) will be reliably be in the low 80s every day.

Hi n2587n,
CGs should be open and sites available all along the route mentioned. I'd call about your rig's length (cause of the trailer). I use the Good Sam directory. Your timing is good. You will be in the "shoulder season". Winter has passed and kids are still in school.

Texas weather is hitting the 80's and the wildflowers are in full bloom. Rodeo's and fairs are everywhere and the RV snowbirds are heading North, so lot's of CG's have sites.

Be aware, 98 the main road that goes from Destin Harbor past 331 on the east end of the bay is under construction. It will be a nightmare spring break and this summer. Competition in 2020. Destin West in FortWalton Beach is nice and away from the road work. You can get to the harbor from there without the road work. Navarre and Pensacola also has nice campgrounds. All are on the Intercoastal waterway

Take Hwy 2 into the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and continue into the Lower Peninsula. Return via Wisconsin.

Hi n2587n,
If you are staying in the center of the country, be careful of the flooding rivers and tornados.

IF you end up going to Texas let us know and we can offer some suggestions. The Hill Country West of Austin is pretty nice.

Stay away from west Texas. With the current oil boom it's hard to find accommodations that aren't already taken long term by oil workers.
West Texas is on track to be the largest oil producer in the world.
