We are new to the traveling RV World we have a Solitude 379FL on order and are in the process of selling farm, we want to travel and see as much of the Country as possible while we can. We are retired and want to take our time visiting areas for a month or so at a time, and stay away from the snow, can anyone give us any advice as far as pet friendly places to stay at or places we should avoid we are in AR now and will be heading to TX first.

Welcome to iRV2. I know of no CG/Resorts that are not pet friendly. Some have restriction on size/breed. There are so many to choose from, one could get the CG directories for Good Sam, KOA, Passport America, etc.. Based on the area one wants to stay, make a choice and give the CG a call. During the call ask about the pet policy in addition to any other requirements you may have.

I would recommend you just choose a place you're interested in and give them a call as for the policies. Each park is different.

You also might to plan on more than a month to visit areas. When you get into some, there is so much to see that a month will not do it! Have fun!!

We've almost completed our first year RVing , you got now worries what-so-ever. I've never seen so many dogs, you'll love being able to take your pet. Having said that, irresponsible pest owners have been the biggest negative for us, dogs barking at any sound day and night is so irritating. Stayed in Sarasota for 3 week at $80 a night and had to put up with couple barking wiener dogs on one side that would set off the boxer on the other side of us. Nice dogs, awesome people but they didn't have the hart to discipline their dogs.

Sorry, just had to vent a little. You'll be fine, I really think that many choose RVing so they can take their pets. Give Sun-n-Fun a try in Sarasota if you get that way. It's an awesome place and it's over the top pet friendly. The even have pet dress-up days and pet washing stations all over the park, not to mention 3 fenced in dog parks.

You don't mention your dog breed or size. We have Newfoundlands (large dogs) and had good experiences at the following parks to name a few:

KOA Hot Springs, AR
Twin Fountains, Oklahoma City, OK
Hacienda, Las Cruces, NM
KOA, Tucson, AZ
The Palms, Yuma, AZ
Avi Casino KOA, Laughlin, NV
Desert Shadows, Phoenix, AZ
Adventureland, Altoona, IA

Biggest issue is barking dogs and people who do not pick up after their pets.

Our park has a restriction on some breeds and a no bite rule. If your dog bites someone you will be asked to leave.

Most places are pet friendly. You may try looking for dog day cares or boarding facilities around wherever your are staying at. We usually do & bring the dogs there so they can spend the day running & playing with other dogs. Also gives us the day to do things without worrying about the dogs locked up in the rv.
