I agree with their choice of being 55+ campgrounds. Life is all about choices good bad or ugly. Each of us have the right to choose on any given subject or campground. Why would you not give them the same choice. I prefer state parks myself, get to meet a diverse group of people, but then again I'm one of those old geezers

It's very simple, their park, their rules.
If you don't agree just go someplace else.

If you want in you have to pay your dues...in this case 55 years. So for now you can stay in the minor leagues until you mature im 15 months away from joining the old guiser crowd

the very very last thing I would want to do is be in a park with everyone being 55+....can you imagine the drama and complaining that goes on in those places? I would however like to build a childrens water park and concert venue next to one.

As a sexagenarian I enjoy the few adult only parks I have stayed and as selfish as I am sure the OP would find me I only wish there were more around

To paraphrase Groucho Marx:

"Any 55+ RV park who would have me as a guest I wouldn't want to stay at!"

How can you feel that way why simultaneously not understanding someone not wanting to stay at a young adult park? I prefer 55+ parks and live in an age restricted community.

Obviously you prefer other arrangements. It's good we each have the option to have those choices. Ain't freedom grand.

After reading the OPs post...I'm not sure he's really all that concerned about your freedom. He did say that he wasn't complaining so much for "himself" but in advance and fighting for the rights of an as of yet unnamed future person who may or may not be offended at not being allowed into the park due to age restrictions.

I am 62, so I guess that qualifies me as a "geezer". But the thing is for me, why would I want to stay at a 55+ RV park? To look at other geezers?

Although I have friends my age, I mainly associate with younger people. I've a girlfriend half my age. That's just me. If someone else over 55 wants to stay at a 55+ RV park, they should go ahead and do so. Whatever floats one's boat.

Sure hope the OP doesn't screw up the few benefits I get from being an old geezer...it must really 'P' this person off to know that every now and then we get a little 'senior' discount that he/she doesn't get...don't sweat the small stuff if you are lucky enough to become an old geezer you will understand what age discrimination is actually about.

It's nice to know someone who is so concerned with not offending some imaginary persons has no problem offending a huge number of actual persons by using offensive slurs like "geezer."

Maybe I'm just getting too old to understand the wisdom of youth.

I don't like people under age 55. They're different from the rest of us. And, they talk funny.
