Alafia River State Park, Lithia, Fl

Has anyone stayed at this state park?
We are wanting to do some canoeing on this river and I am getting ready to book our Labor Day weekend for 2008.

Jody & Jeff: Sorry, can't tell ya about the park as we haven't stayed there, BUT, we did launch our canoe on the Alafia at some park just approx. 20ish miles SE of Riverview, FL (East Tampa) and had a SPECTACULAR day paddling down the Alafia. Gators, cypress stumps, through hanging moss forests,birds, turtles etc. It's GREAT trip!!! Hope ya get help re: the park. Have fun!! Steve & Lynette
