We'll be a few weeks behind. Plan to leave OH end of May. 3-1/2 weeks to make it to North Pole. Plan to return after Labor Day. Or should I say start back. We'll also take the Cassiar back down

You'll find lots of buddies as you travel. There are only a few roads and everyone travels the same roads. You will meet up with people as you travel. It's not a difficult trip to do on your own. You'll have lots of company. Take your time and enjoy every mile. Stop when you want - if only after driving 50 miles. Stay as long as you want. See things that you want. Traveling with someone else makes it limiting to do these.

X2 Having been to Alaska twice I would not want to travel with someone else, it does limit when and where you stop and for how long. You will have a fantastic trip as you travel the Alcan Highway with sights that will blow your mind. Enjoy and don't feel you have to rush. Safe travels.

We've been twice, and each time we traveled by ourselves. Not that you're really alone, because you'll probably run into the same people in your travels. It's nice to find a great boondocking spot along a river or lake, and stay a couple days to enjoy the beauty and solitude without feeling you're putting someone out who wants to keep going. As the old saying goes...different strokes for different folks.

Have a great trip! We did the trip last year and it was great. We hit some of the same cities that you're going to. This summer we are going to Yellowstone but I'm looking forward to seeing more of Alaska.

Good travels,

Thank you all for your comments on Alaskan trip. It is on our bucket list for next year. Plan on getting on the road mid May from St Louis and return July or may be August. I look forward to reading your posting from Alaska.
Keep them coming.

Excursion04: Why not start a new post titled "Alaska 2017"? That's where you'll get more posts for next summer.
