Feb - Mar is a great time to be in the Key's as far as weather goes. Boyd's Campground in Key West get good reviews, but anywhere that time of the year in South Florida your going to need reservations

I'd suggest trying to find a place now. That is their busiest season.
Rates will be 100.00 a night and up.

If you don't already have reservations for Key West for Feb. .... I really doubt if you will be able to now. And no where on the Keys do they allow overnight "parking". Sorry to be the bearer of bad news ...might want to make reservations now for Feb. 2017.

of three rv parks closing down soon. It's going to be harder to get
reservations.

Yes, it is very hard to find a campsite in the keys in season, but a friend of mine just got three nights in Marathon and three nights in Key West (Boyd's) on short notice. People sometimes cancel their reservations, and if you are lucky you can get a break. But DON'T leave the Miami area for the keys unless you have a confirmed reservation. There are zero boondocking or overflow parking areas in the keys. They are very strict about this and for good reason as the land is just too limited to allow it.

Florida stops

Check out this website...Map of Florida Spring locations, Florida Springs Map - Florida's Springs: Protecting Nature's Gems

Stop and see the Manatees in Crystal River or at the Teco power plant in Apollo Beach.

Also driving down Rt 27 is nice, it will take you down the spine of the state.

If you have a chance to see the Everglades National Park - there is an entrance down by Homestead.

Bring your weather radio, we have been having crazy weather this year. 2 tornadoes in south FL in 2 days. One actually picked up a car with a woman in it and tossed it around.
