Question Am I too late for Memorial Day? (Central or North Florida)

We'll be getting our new TT a few days before Memorial Day weekend.. Took a little longer than we expected to find the right deal, and it all worked out - but now i'm afraid that we won't find a place to stay Memorial Day Weekend without reservations by now..

Any ideas or input? Know of a place in central to north Florida that may still have something i could grab?

Try this www.allstays.com It was posted in another thread by someone else. We always book Memorial Day along with a few others way in advance to make sure we get a good spot.

Try the State Parks. Fla has some great ones. Near you would include Wekiva Springs, Topsail, Sebastian Inlet. You should also check out your local county to see if they have camping parks as well. If you want to travel a little further you could try Jonathan Dickenson in Jupiter or Myakka near Sarasota. They are big and located in areas that have interesting things to see. The State Park wedsite lets you see where the vacancies are and you can make reservations on line or by phone. If you have kids you could always try Fort Wilderness but you will spend some serious bucks. It will also ruin you for roughing it. We go at least 4-6 times a year.

Our favorite park in Central FL is Hillsborough State Park, but it is very popular. It's over in Zephyrhills. If you don't find anything in Central FL, your best bet for a State Park is Lake Louisa. It's a big park, but the camping area has no trees and I've never seen it full. We usually stay there because grandma's house is minutes away vs. Hillsborough which is 1.5 hours. Lake Louisa in the summer requires 50A service as there is a lot of pavement and it gets very hot. Back in the day, that park was the reason we sold our pop-up camper to get a TT. Fishing is good though.

North Central? Try musicliveshere.com also called the Spirit of the Suwanee Music Park. Pretty big private campground. Just stay away during their big music events, unless you don't mind the prices going up. Holiday weekends have been fun for me the last few years.
