I'm not but thanks for the reminder that the Cup races start on 9/7 at 1pm PDT.

News coverage up to this point has been lousy.

We didn't come for the races but pulling out of Bodega Bay today heading for Half Moon Bay via Rt 80 Bay Bridge. I don't know anything about the location of the event or much about ocean racing but I do know the boats are pretty darn awesome looking (Formula 1 on the water). Where is the course in relation to the Bay Bridge and the Golden Gate?

The race course is pretty much between the two, and runs along the embarcadero, giving almost anyone that wants to see the races a good opportunity. Oracle lost both races today, but the races were exciting. Tomorrow will be interesting!

Not sure I'd go that far, but they certainly have the advantage at this point and look like they will be very hard to beat. They made fewer mistakes than Oracle did today for sure.

I guess you try to dig yourself out of hole one shovel full at a time. 6 races to win versus 10 races to win against a competitor that isn't known for making a lot of mistakes is a pretty deep hole. But what I feared might happen didn't - the wind piped up and NZL didn't show a lot better boat speed.

I sure would like to be there to watch in person. The sight along the Embarcadero has got be impressive. Those masts stick up so far that it would be easy to pick them out. We visited Alcatraz and had a sailboat race (downwind with spinnakers up ) coming at the shuttle boat on the way back. That is a great venue.

We have been to 3 America's cup defenses including this one, and this s an incredible venue. The race course is so close to the beach at the first mark that you can really see the action well even without binoculars. To bring the race this close to spectators is terrific. We're really excited to be able to see it.

I wish that you were getting to see highly competitive regatta. That does not appear to be the case. Unless TeamUSA can figure out how to quickly improve upwind boat speed and pointing and gain speed in tacks and jibs, this is going to be a very short series.

As a patriotic Kiwi, go Team Emirates New Zealand. We sure have a very quick boat upwind. Barring accidents, I predict two more wins tomorrow.

As an American, I'm rooting for the home team, that said, the Kiwis do indeed have a very quick boat upwind, and not too shabby downwind either. As a passionate sailor, hoping for the best boat and sailors to win it out on the water. We've had a terrific time watching these two amazing teams of sailors compete. Looks like maybe a vacation in New Zealand is in our future.

Well that was too close for comfort! How we didn't capsize is beyond me. It looks like Oracle has got some extra speed upwind now and we have a boat race.
