Looking for a place for next week while I'm at work. I would prefer something that is family friendly. Thanks!

There's a relatively new one on Hwy 41 between I 285 and Marietta. The name is Atlanta-Marietta RV Resort. I have not stayed there but have seen it. There is not much near Atlanta.

Thanks a lot for that RV park. It is very close and the price is reasonable, however the only review that I read wasn't very favorable. I'm thinking I may give it the benefit of the doubt since I don't have many choices and there is only one review.

Anyone else stayed there or have other suggestions? Thanks!

That's a busy area with an interstate in close proximity. Was the review complaining of the noise?

Here is a paste of the review:

Unfortunately there is not a lot of choices for RV parks in Atlanta. This park is decent from afar, but there are numerous drawbacks. The management is beyond mean (crazy people), the sewer doesn't drain, and there is a super creepy maintenance guy. After bringing all of these items to the managements attention, they got mad at us, and even hung up on my husband. I would never stay there again. They also charge a lot to stay there, which was fine with us for a higher quality park. Unfortunately the quality isn't there, and the surrounding neighborhood is pretty rough...used car lots and not so nice apartments. Good luck for finding a nice park.

If the Atlanta-Marietta CG doesn't work out the next closest is in Acworth about 25 more mile north on 75. It's called Holiday Harbor Marina and Resort. I know absolutely nothing about it

john tanner is just off the interstate, i think it's in the area you're looking at. i've stayed several times for 2 or 3 days at a time. it's typical state park, ok but nothing fancy. it is a small park and campground is down a hillside. can't remember if it has sewer or not, but it did have cable. play ground and swimming area for kids, don't remember what the rest rooms were like. i said small, did not have trouble with a 30' fifth wheel but you might want to ask about a 40' motor home. it was cheap and far enough off interstate to be quiet.

I'd love to stay there, but it is 54 miles from where I work. I may still consider it depending on other locations. Thanks!

Hey GTHill,

I am not sure if this will work for you, but I have stayed here a few times while visiting family in Villa Rica, GA! The last time was this past April! It is nothing fancy but has a big field and playground for kids plus some nature trails! Here is the info!

Sweetwater Valley RV Park
366 Sweetwater Bend
Villa Rica, GA 30180
(770) 456-1917

Good luck !!!!!

Avoid this place. I drive pass it daily on the way to work.

Lakemont RV Park
5134 North Shores Rd
Acworth GA 30101
(770)966-0302

It's a dive, mud roads with massive pot holes, tons of trashy seasonal RVs, trash everywhere, cars up on blocks...

From the highway it looks good, but it's still a dive.

Have you considered a Corps of Engineer CG?

McKinney Campground's published descripton says they're 30 miles from Atlanta. I've stayed there and found it very nice and clean with very reasonable prices.
