Does anyone know if there are any campground open the last weeks of Feb.& March from Ma. thru Penn.?

We are trying to plan our escape from Foxboro Ma. to the Atlanta area the last part of Feb. or the beginning of March. We want to travel hwy 90-then 81. We really don't want to drive I-95. We know if we have to we can sleep at a wal-mart but really want a campground. Any suggestions?

Time to get out of the snow and cold weather.
Thanks in advance.

Happymi

Check this it's in Carlisle, PA about a 7hr ride from Foxboro. Easy on/off access to I-81

Happymi, 2 more options for you. First on I-84 as you cross the Delaware river from NY into PA there is an ex on/off PA Welcome Center that allows for overnight parking. If you really want a campground Lickdale CG in Lebanon, PA (memeory?) is at either exit 90 or 100 on I-81 and is open year round with ez on/off and pull throughs.

Right before you leave NY on I-84 there is a good fuel stop at exit 1. At end of ramp take a left and another left at light-1/4 mile ahead are 3 stations with either gas or diesel. The prices are good here as for the moment you are in NJ and not NY or PA. When approaching exit 1 you will be warned of steep grade ahead and also on ramp itself- they are serious, just be careful and you won't smoke 'em.

After that fuel stop you should get into VA on I-81 with ease where fuel prices again become somewhat reasonable. There is a Flying J within 100 yards of the VA-WV state line at Winchester, VA, In NY, PA, MD and WV on the 84-81 corridor to get fuel you will need your gold credit card and you may also have to leave a kid for security.

Living in TN and still having inlaws and outlaws in MA we have travelled this route dozens of times and the above comes from 1st hand experience.

Good luck and happy travels, Ken,'04 DSDP...
