I use to stop at Robertsons on my way south years and years ago but I googled them and it appears they are closed now?

Another favorite of mine in the south was Morrisons -- thurs night liver and onions woohoo

Is there anything like them anymore? I haven't been down below Virgina in many years and am headed to Charleston soon

Morrison's is no more, sold out to Piccadilly Cafeteria, and they have closed most of the old Morrison's. Morrison's Cafeteria
Going to Morrison's was a treat when I was a kid. As an adult, my father and I went to Piccadilly until he passed a few years ago.

Even the Piccadilly we went to is now closed. My ex-wife still makes money off of her Morrison's stock, as Morrison's bought Ruby Tuesday and you know how well THEY are doing.

There are a lot of wonderful places to dine in Charleston, SC. let me know when you're coming and we'll do lunch. We could start at Jack's Cosmic Dogs in Mt. Pleasant!

Thanks for the invite Driver
I just logged on today after a while of no wifi ( I was up camping on skyline drive)-- I wish I was able to check earlier,it would have been fun doing luch. I am leaving James Island CCG tomorrow ( columbus day) Excellent campground.
I hit S and S cafeteria on Friday night which was very good. Found an Irish pub called Madra Rua in N. Charleston on Sat night for fish and chips ( fish was good but the fries were not the overseas thick cut I had expected)
Hit a breakfast place called Alex's in Mt Pleasant before visiting USS Yorktown which had some really good biscuits with sausage gravy (and my staple bowl of grits)

I am on the way to the national forest so I will make a stop at cosmic dogs. I see Alton Brown and Bill C have been there lol. I will have to try at least two of the different dogs available

There is a small place in Mount Pleasant called "Mama Brown's". It doesn't look like much from the outside, but if your looking for authentic low country food that is inexpensive, that is the place! I'm drooling just thinking about there pulled pork(Nort and South Carolina style), ribs and fried chicken. Yum! I think there known for catering as well.
