We like to stay at the Malibu RV Park. Right across the highway from the ocean. Enjoy the sound of the ocean waves breaking. Second tier is our fav for a even better view. There is a short walking trail leading down to an excellent seafood restaurant. Downside it's not cheap. You are paying for the location.

Hi, I have the same problem. My daughter lives in Toluca Lakes. I have been to several RV parks. East shores and Malibu will put you in nice sites for a SHORT STAY!!!!
Ventura Beach is very close to the beach and $$$$$ but I stayed a month and loved it and the poodles loved the beach. CalifornianRV Resort in Acton is very well kept but it is on the side of a mountain. $700 a month WITH elec. All are within 45 mins to 1hr of LA. Anything south and the traffic is TERRIBLE.

Take a look at Valencia Travel Village in Castaic it is not that far away.
I think it is a good alternative and keeps you away from downtown.

As I remember, amazingly enough the LA freeways are fairly busy even at 2AM. But yeah, a helluva lot better than 2 PM.

Listen to 1070 AM radio, it's just one of many stations that give traffic reports every 10-15 minutes, I can't quite remember. I beat the So Cal freeways building Freeway Bridges all over the place for 37 years . I never went anywhere anytime of the day or night without hearing a traffic report, get caught having to sit on a freeway for hours and hours because you don't check reports will make a believer out of you quickly

BUT there doesn't seem to be anything closer that is any better. They said they were going to Phoenix and that would get them on to the 118 then to the 210 without getting into the city!
What do you think ?
