Any suggestions for staying in Ruidoso?

Going skiing soon, and want to take our trailer up there.

Has anyone been and can you recommend an RV park?

We stayed a couple years ago, but in a hotel, not RV park.

If the name is an indicator, bring ear plugs.

Sorry, couldn't resist. I know, goofy sense of humour.

I believe I heard a lot of the RV parks close up for winter, so check ahead. Sorry can't give any recommendations, never stayed there.

Once we get an idea of where we want to stay, we will be making reservations this week. Which will verify they are open, and reserve us a spot.

Checking out Circle B...

There is a new RV park open - Ruidoso Motorcoach Ranch. Home - Ruidoso Motorcoach Ranch, Luxury RV Resort in New Mexico
Class A only, however. We have reservations there for a week the end of May. Looking forward to it.

I have been calling and emailing many parks, and most ARE closing around November.

Circle B is open year round.

We are still looking, we really like more natural parks, out in the boonies, with lakes, rivers, and hiking near by. Circle B looks like it is pretty much in town.

You state that you'd like to be out in the boonies. You'll be there in winter so the back roads might be impassable and the forest service campground are closed along with private ones.

Circle B is your best bet. It's not in town at all. It's a little ways out. It's on a hillside with lots of trees. Pretend you're in the boonies.

I pulled Circle B up on GoogleEarth, and you are right, it isn't "right in town".

Wife and I need to nail down dates then I will call and make reservations.

Well, we booked at Riverside in Ruidoso. Has a river running through it, and we have a spot right on it.

She said the park will be pretty much empty, so I hope we aren't getting in over our heads (in snow)!!!

Mountains in winter...never know what you gonna get!
