Anyone been to Enota resort in North Georgia

It has about an 80% 5 star or 4 star reviews but about 15 percent rank 1 -2 stars.

The low ratings complained about cramped quarters, bad road, etc.

If you have been, I would appreciate your opinions.

Well jimbo, so far the response has been less than overwhelming. Maybe someone who's been there will respond in a little.

i like Enota very much. it is close to Brasstown Bald between Helen, Blairsville and Hiawasse. almost all campsites are shaded. some along the stream and most have slab patio or deck. depending how big your rig is they can be tight. nice hiking trails, organic farm, water falls. the most negative reviews are usually about all the extra fees and the tight campsites for TT's and motorhomes. with slides you just need to make sure they are aware and can help with campsite selection. there is no cell signal and the wifi is weak, so no streaming video. i like the place alot

IMHO Enota is a beautiful campground. I had to go read the reviews as I wouldn't expect bad reviews. It appears many of the reviews were complaints from people who needed to stay at a resort. Re: trail to waterfall turned to mud when it rained, it's a trail in the woods. No cell reception or WiFi, plainly states this on their website. Location alone makes for difficult to no cell service. Site size can be tight so keep that in mind. Let mgmt know. Complaining about neighbor's, that can happen anywhere. The add on fees are detailed on website. I lived in Hiawassee for years. Will be in the area in a couple of weeks.

Have stayed at Enota twice over the years. Narrow 'roads' with potholes and brush against the rig as we drove in. Nothing that grading, several loads of gravel and some brush trimming would not fix. The location is the old Atlanta YMCA camp and it is indeed a beautiful location.
However it was messy both times we stayed there. Sites were very tight. Staff was not friendly - nothing wrong with that, unless you want return business. I got the impression that the owners are old hippies (from the sixties era). Maybe not, but just an impression from the overall visits.
At one time these folks were into native American activities. Sweat lodges and cold water splashes etc. Whether this continues or not, I do not know. You might be (caution) careful in inspecting the plants growing around the CG. No telling what you might find.
Bears frequent the area as well. Trout stream runs beside the main road that the CG road runs off of.
Great area for nature buffs, with Brasstown Bald just up the road . Highest point in Georgia with a neat museum at the top. Pretty good food in Blairsville and Hiawassee.

Stayed there for a week in 2009. I would do it again but don't expect a resort. It's a rural GA old tight campground.

I live just down the road from them about three miles. Have not been in the campground, just a drive by every few weeks or so. There are many nice campgrounds within a few miles or so from there. Look at Bald Mountain Campground, River Bend Campground, Unicoi State park is really nice with full hook ups, wooded setting etc. to name a few.
