Camped at Pine Mountain RV Resort several times. Nice people, big open paved sites, Very good interior roads. Only drawback is not much shade.
I would for sure rate it at 9+

Our club held a Rally there last April, the cg owner was very helpful and friendly. Camp Benning has a graduation every week and is open to witness. Nice cg, we'd go back for sure.

I hosted at FDR - fabulous state park with lots of space between sites. Big, well maintained washrooms with showers. Just 3 miles from Calloway Gardens; close to Warm Springs and FDR house. I highly recommend this State Park.

If you want wide open, go the Pine Mountain. If you want more seclusion, FDR is very nice.
The town of Pine Mountain is a nice little place. Small shops, some really good mom and pop restaurants, and you're just down the road from Callaway Gardens.

I've camped at both Pine Mountain RV Resort and at FDR. It all depends on what you're looking for. RV Resort has 50 amp full hook-up. As some have already said, most of the sites are not shady. However, there is an area that has some trees around it.
FDR is a very nice state park. We really enjoyed our time there. Only drawbacks I see are the lack of a sewer hook-up, and that you can't reserve specific sites. We got there a little late in the day and had to look around to find a site for our 40 footer.
We will stay at FDR when we go back.

Plenty of stuff to do around there, as well. Calloway Gardens, Animal Safari, Butt's Mill Farms (for the kiddos), Little White House are all worth seeing IMHO.

If you choose FDR, plan to arrive early in the day and in the middle of the week if possible. You can specify a bigger site; but beyond that, reservations are not site specific. Some of the sites aren't real level, so even if you reserve a big site, you may have problems in a larger motorhome if you arrive late.
