Anyone cancelling a reservation for Memorial Day weekend in the NE or Mid Atlantic?

I'm looking for some place for the DW and I to go camping for Memorial Day weekend. Preferrably within an 8 hour drive of the Hudson Valley/Catskills in New York. That could be New Jersey, Ct., Penn, Delaware, MD, and Mass. It seems that EVERY place I've called or tried to reserve online over the past 2 months is completely booked... How frustrating! Nothing like having a "new to us" motorhome and no place to take it the first weekend of the summer... If you have a reservation you intend to cancel, not sure if I can use it, but would like to know about it so I can try...

Thanks!

Hush, I've had my reservation for two years! I've got so many reservations in the future without my iPhone calendar it's impossible to keep up with.

I've often read stories of the East Coast parks being packed. When I travel there, I usually look for City parks instead. Mainly in smaller towns, there's often a RV park run by the city with empty spaces. And low cost. Usually with all the amenities (except perhaps WiFi, but within walking distance to free WiFi in bistros).

You might try here: Dutchess County RV Park/Camping/Campsites/Tent/Campground Poughkeepsie/New York

We have been there (Sylvan Lake). Its a little hard to get to, but very quiet when we stopped there. Its a no frills park, but does have a nice lake with a swimming beach. Remember you can not take a motor home on the Taconic State Parkway.

After I wrote my comment, I went online this afternoon and found a cancellation at Delaware State Beach Park in Rehoboth, Delaware. It's a state park 400 yards from the beach! Not much in the way of amenities, but it's exactly what I was hoping for. Now, it better not rain!!!!!
