Okay, has anyone heard of or been to the Destin Beach RV Resort? We are wanting to spend the winter on the Gulf and picked this location due to its locale, weather, and Trailer Life rating. The only question I had was that they want to put us on a beach site, and not one of the 36 sites in the resort. If anyone can give me some insight I would appreciate it. The beach sites may be nice, I just don't know. Thanks

Ocean beaches have salt in the sand. Blowing sand sticks to everything it seems, including trailer and vehicle frames. Be prepared for corrosion on most everything metal when you are there long-term. I winter more inland to escape the constant wind along the coast, and wet, salty sand.

OOPS! Should have read the reviews first. It sounds like beach-front is not available, as you must walk about 300 yards to to beach. I doubt you will have any salty sand issues there.

We stayed at the Panama City Beach RV Resort which is the sister RV park to Destin. They are very similar. The beach is about 1/4 mile walk away .... seemed like uphill both ways some days. But the park is beautiful ... fully paved, nice pool and the staff was great. We stayed there a week and would very definitely go back any time .... The only 'problem' was we did not have a drive around vehicle and there were only 2 restaurants within walking distance, neither really great, but ok

Hi,
We stayed at Deston on the Beach two summers ago. It is on the beach and some sites are ocean front. Sites are narrow, short, hilly and unpaved. Had to unhook toad to be able to get into their so called "pull through".
They also have no refund policy-period.
Would not recommend this campground.
