Anyone recommend good Lake Havasu RV spot?

I'm thinking about taking the RV to Lake Havasu over the 4th of July holiday. Can anyone recommend any good RV spots that are close to the water and has hookups?

you can't beat the LH State Park. electric only with water fill and dump station but it's gorgeous. there are a couple of parks on the island but they don't compare to the state park.

Have you ever been there in summer? The state parks in the area at least have a little shade. It is HOT. 110+

Its a couple miles upstream but Pirate Cove is a nice place. They have full hookups right along the river's edge.

Thank you everyone for all your tips. I had not thought much about the heat so I better go somewhere else. I think I will start looking somewhere else...maybe Big Bear that's in the mountains.

true but to us that looked like a par-tee place what with the bar and all. if the OP is looking for that kind of place then that would work.

For July what you need to look for is elevation and preferably above 6500' or else the coast. Consider driving up CA395 - a beautiful area. Northern Utah and Northern Idaho are other nice places. In addition, Flagstaff, AZ or Pinetop/Greer, AZ.

Here is the weather history for Lone Pine, CA in July - Elevation 3700. Look at the record high column! It's right next to Death Valley. For a weekend it would be doable, I guess but look for something farther north on Hwy 395. Bishop would be a little higher elevation at 4100'. June Lake area at 7600' is beautiful and will be cool and Lee Vining at 6700' has a RV park and you could do some siteseeing toward Yosemite on Tioga Pass road Hwy 120. Bodie Ghost Town is nearby, also. These are all along Hwy 395. There are some nice boondocking areas along 395, too.

I've spent a couple of 4ths at Havasu (and the Parker strip). 115 degrees is not unheard of...

I winter on the Parker Strip , it was 99 there last week ,in summer the overnight lows are sometimes triple digits.
A fellow I talked to, over the winter, said he got tired of sitting in the river all day , after a week of 125, last summer; and drove to Idaho to visit family.
