Sometime next month we are thinking of heading out to Anza Borrego and spend a few days at The Springs at Borrego. Wondering if anyone has been out there lately. We understand it's a bad year for wildflowers.....
But we have the Jeep,and our golf clubs and our dog. Our question is, with the issues they have had out there is it still worth a visit?

Any time there's a flower in bloom in the desert is very special! Right now, the Tucson area is beginning to bloom.

Not sure what you meant by "the issues"...if it's about the earthquake, that's common in California.

I had heard that the economy took quite a toll on that area, with a lot of business, including a golf course closing up. We are just up the road an hour and a half, so I am quite familiar with the quake thing. And with so little rain this year, the only wildflowers we'll be seeing around her are in the meridian on El Paseo.

Be very, very careful which route you use if you decide to go there. We took my wife's Volvo SUV there on a day trip a couple of years ago from Temecula. No way I would ever take an RV down the grade from that side. I believe the park you are referring to is the expensive one at the golf course. Beautiful. Worth the drive and the money. I asked them about the grade from Temecula. Was told they always recommend coming in from a different route.

I camp out there every winter and play in our Jeep. Anza Borrego is like no other desert as it used to be a ancient sea. There are areas with just plain weird and different formations etc, its really cool. The park is HUGE and you can't never see it all I don't think ! There is lots and lots to see without the Wild Flowers tho.
