What should we see or do in Arkansas? We know nothing about the state but will be in the area and would like to explore a bit.

Any and all campground recommendations would be appreciated as well.

Thanks much

Just left little rock this morning after a week at north little rock river rv park. Great spot. Across river from Clinton museum and downtown entertainment district. Walkin bridge to all attractions. Now in NW ark. Beautiful country. Have a buddy that landed in Eureka Springs yesterday and is having a ball. In little rock I recommend Flyin fish and Uncle Gus Fried Chicken. You can walk to both from park. Good luck. JD

Hi neelrev,
Consider these two things to do:
1. Crater of Diamonds State Park
2. Hot Springs, Arkansas

I recommend any Corps of Engineers park. We are currently working at one on Beaver Lake outside Rogers in NW AR. There are 12 parks on Beaver Lake, some have waterfront sites. All have hookups, at least elect & water, with dump onsite. There's the Crystal Bridges museum and Wal Mart museum in Bentonville, even if you are not a "museum" person, Crystal Bridges is worth seeing for the architecture. Clinton's Presidential museum in Little Rock is great. Eureka Springs is a quaint little town, Turpentine Creek is a lion, tiger, bear & puma rescue center, every animal has their story. They always need donations. A quirky thing is the Daisy BB gun museum in downtown Rogers.
We were just introduced to Top of the Rock, which is just over the border in Southern Missouri. You follow a path driving a golf cart and it has spectacular views, including Table Rock Lake. There's also a golf course, chapel and meeting center onsite. It's also close to Branson.
Leaves will be changing soon, it should be beautiful.

Hot Springs AR is beautiful and so is the drive to Eureka Springs AR. I love Wanderlust in Eureka, I'm going there first weekend in October with the Harley. Great restaurant, arts, crafts (not my thing), awesome roads to ride on the Harley, love Ozark Café in Jasper.

Another great thing about Wanderlust RV Park is they have a Trolley stop so you can venture around town with out driving.

Good luck in your planning!

There's lots of trout fishing in Northern Arkansas, if you like to fish. The area around Beaver Lake is beautiful, but that's as much of it as I have seen. Eureka Springs was beautiful in the '70s but seems to have commercialized too much for our taste these days. Pretty good eats at the War Eagle Mill. There's a Passion Play close to Eureka Springs. It was very well done when we went... again in the '70s. We've not seen that since then. Enjoy...

We stayed at Catherine's Landing in Hot Springs in June. Really enjoyed it and wished we'd had more time to explore the town but ran out of time. We were headed to Anchor Down in Tennessee, our favorite RV resort by far. We're doing the same trip next June and staying at Catherine's Landing again, very nice facility. I think we stayed in Hot Springs 4 or 5 nights but didn't get to see everything we wanted to.

Concur with the comments about the North Little Rock Riverview Park. Nice spot. Bill Clintons Doublewide Museum is right across the river, as is the Little Rock entertainment district. I don't think the Lewinsky dress is on display there though.

Arkansas is all about the natural beauty of the state, EXCEPT that you must go up to Northwest Arkansas and spend a day at the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art. Spectacular! Privately funded by Alice Walton. There are several nice RV parks in the area, we stayed in Bella Vista, about 15 miles north. The original Walton 5&dime is an interesting museum visit in Bentonville.

Crater of Diamonds State Park is one of the nicest Campgrounds we have ever been. You might get lucky and find a diamond. Not far away is Hot Springs, a lovely visit.
