If you want quiet and nice views go to Mama Girties. It is very small but great and nice people. About 10 miles from Asheville on I 40.

We stayed at the Asheville East KOA which was very nice and open.

We drove through Mama Gerties but decided against it because they predicted snow at the time and it's a steep hill to get up to that campground (or down!). Sites also looked tight for a 40-footer with a tow but we only saw the loop right behind the office.

40 miles away, but if it is still as nice as it was 30 years ago, it's worth it.
Stream runs by the RV. Call and ask about hook-ups

If you want a place to park with good hookups and full concrete pads check out Wilsons RV Park. No frills, no activities but right on the French Broad River, across from the Biltmore farm. PA park, close to all in Asheville.

KOA has trains coming through all night. Back is quiet though.

WOULD RECOMMEND you NOT stay at Bear Creek. It's NOISY. There's 3 Interstates that all Connect and it's right in the triangle. I-40 / I-240 & I-26
